Lavon Sanders
All my life I wanted to paint pictures so in 1976 my sister talked me into learning how. We started taking art classes from Shelly Cozac. I loved it from the moment I started but I had no natural talent and had a lot to learn. I still struggle with drawing but I can put down what I see with a brush. I won many ribbons over the years and one best of show. I sat in second place many times through the years.

The best advice I was ever given was from Linda Conners. She said "Paint What You See". Before I heard that I didn't have the self confidence to think I could do it on my own. I really got mad at Linda that day but that was the best advice anyone could give me. I made my mind up to show her I could. Every time I think I can't do it, I will remember Linda and her advice...
